Marta Bradley serves as Secretary-Treasurer of Local 40-543 (Baltimore), Secretary-Treasurer of the Eastern Conference of Locals, and is a member of the Maryland State and DC AFL-CIO Executive Board. Prior to joining Local 40-543 in 2025, she served for 11 years as the Secretary-Treasurer of Local 161-710 (Washington, DC).

Bradley earned a Bachelor of Music degree from Indiana University, where she studied with Larry Hurst, and an Master of Music degree from the Peabody Conservatory of Johns Hopkins University, where she studied with Hal Robinson.

A professional bassist for more than 35 years, Bradley has performed with national and international musical theater tours as well as opera and symphony orchestras, including the Baltimore Symphony Orchestra, National Symphony Orchestra, Washington National Opera, and the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra. Her performance credits also include numerous television broadcasts including the A Capitol Fourth, National Memorial Day Concerts, America’s Millenium: A Celebration for the Nation, and one of Victor Borga’s PBS specials.  She is currently Acting Principal Bass of the Baltimore Chamber Orchestra.

Drawing on decades of experience as both a performing musician and union leader, Bradley brings a broad perspective on the challenges and opportunities facing professional musicians and the communities they serve.
