For over two decades, Cleto and his band — which notably includes his father, Cleto Jr.— provided the late-night soundtrack to millions of homes. His musical genius and lifelong friendship with Jimmy created a unique, joyful presence that will never be replaced.

A member of AFM Local 47 (Los Angeles, CA), Cleto was also a strong union advocate for his fellow musicians, most recently working with the AFM in safeguarding musicians’ livelihoods as a key to preserving freedom of expression and speech in the arts.

On behalf of the AFM, we send our deepest sympathies to his family, friends, bandmates, and colleagues. He will be profoundly missed.
