Right to Work Is Wrong

AFM opposes the national “right to work” bill introduced in Congress earlier this week.

“Right to work is just plain wrong. It’s wrong for musicians and it’s wrong for all working people. States with right to work laws have lower wages, higher poverty rates, lower health insurance coverage rates, and more workplace fatalities. These are the facts—and the fact is right to work is wrong,” said AFM International President Ray Hair .

The anti-worker legislation would amend the National Labor Relations Act and Railway Labor Act to allow so-called right to work laws in all 50 states. If enacted, union members would be required to cover the expense of non-union workers—even when they receive the benefits of a union contract. This is just another attempt by corporate interests to tip the balance even more in their favor at the expense of working people.

Get the facts about how deceptive right to work laws hurt everyone here.
